Race Report:

 Steve Everitt Memorial Trophy Race.

Twenty cars lined up on the grid of this beautiful little circuit, so perfectly suited to the power and handling characteristics of the MG Midget/Sprite, and so easy to learn while qualifying.  But when the race starts one realises everyone else on the grid has learned it also, but better, plus all those famous corners have a nasty sting at race speeds.

Pole position driver Richard Perry was pushed off the grid after he discovered his engine had dropped a valve so David Weston used his youth and inexperience (no fear) of the circuit to pass Tim Storrar at paddock and lead the pack into Druids.  He stayed there for fourteen laps until Tim slipped into the lead for the last three laps to win the race on scratch and take the Everitt Trophy.  Gil Duffy shadowed the pair waiting for a mistake, but it was not to be and he finished third, ahead of Ed Reeve nursing his car home to protect his class points lead.

Meanwhile in Group B fastest qualifier Will Smallridge spun out with two others at Clark Curve on lap 2 leaving Gareth Penn to pick up class honours ahead of the fast improving Malcolm Self and Howard Vizor.

Group C points leader Peter Dignan led the Road Going cars home with 2nd place hotly disputed by Andrew Actman and Ian Langford and finished in that order.
